Honda Motor Co., a bike and a Japanese car manufacturer, plans to invest JPV 30 billion to build an engine plant in Guangzhou, capital Guangdong, China Southern Province.
Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Honda Motor Co. and China's Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd aims to start production at new plant in 2009. The plan is to increase the production capacity of the engine company in China — second largest car market.
The new plant will be on a much anticipated. The company manages plans to use the plant for production of 2.4 L and 1.3 L engine, which will be installed in several major Honda vehicles including the Accord, Odyssey and Fit. He hopes to have a capacity production of 200,000 units per year.
According to a report by the French news agency, Honda, however, refused News of his plan for a new engine plant.

It is the first time a joint venture to establish their R & D independent unit within China – the so-called Guangzhou Honda Automobile Research & Development Co., Ltd. The unit will design the model, the production test, the vehicle inspection and supporting R & D.
The company also took its second plant into operation in September 2006. The plant makes an important in the development of Honda Motor Co. 's production capacity in China total about 530,000 vehicles per year.
